Headlands is a Bay Area land surveying practice. Our work covers the full range of land surveying services — boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and more — for clients throughout the region's nine counties.
We work directly with property owners, architects, engineers, title companies, attorneys, contractors, and developers. We stay with your project from initial fieldwork through final recordation, including any agency review and approval processes along the way.
Nicholas Doring
Surveyor & GIS Specialist
Born and raised in the Bay Area, I've spent over a decade building a career in land surveying, drawn to its blend of technical precision and real-world impact. My foundation comes from a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Environmental Studies with a GIS emphasis from the University of Oregon, and an Associate's degree in Surveying Technology from Santa Rosa Junior College.
Since entering the profession in 2014, I've developed hands-on experience across boundary surveys, topographic mapping, construction staking, and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys — a working style that's detail-oriented and field-to-finish reliable, with accuracy at the center of everything I do.
Above all, I believe good surveying is built on trust. When I'm not in the field or at the office, you'll likely find me out fishing or spending time with my family.
